Collection: Salt Tolerance

There are many ways a plant can be tolerant of salts and I have just begun going down this rabbit hole, so expect more details eventually. Meanwhile, salt tolerant often means tolerant of extreme conditions. This list will be a good place to start if you are looking for plants for along a road or driveway that gets salted in the winter, or you live close to the ocean in an exposed spot where there is a lot of salt-laden mist off the water. But as usual, experimentation and observation are key. Also, looking at plants already growing along roadsides or in the dunes and rocky shorelines will give you clues, as will knowing a plants origins in the wild.
