More: Hips are edible and used to make jelly and tea. Great in a sunny hedge row, for erosion control, and for bird habitat. Birds eat the hips and use the shrub for shelter and nesting. Stem nesting insects will excavate the pithy stems for wintering over. Prunable, thicket-forming, prickly, salt tolerant. Pretty red fall foliage. More info soon.
