Basics: zones 3-9, 15" x 18", full to part sun, red petals radiate from a beautiful dark purple-maroon center, blooms mid summer to early fall, medium moist to wet soil.

Habitat: The species prefers low wet places and water's edge
More: This low-growing cultivar is good for a decorative, colorful container planting or the front of a sunny border. In the Mt. Cuba Helenium trials it exhibited excellent resistance to powdery mildew. Very attractive to pollinators. Heleniums are good cut flowers and their dried seed heads look good in the vase or left standing into the winter.
