Origin/Distribution: 'Mardi Gras' was developed from a seedling discovered in 1996 in Worcester, England by Cotswold Garden Flowers. It has a U.S. patent (PP15124 from Must Have Perennials)
Habitat: The species occurs in moist to wet soils, including clay, in sunny low places, floodplains, ditches, water's edge such as lakeshore, stream side, and marsh.
More: Shorter than the species and can grow well in medium moisture garden settings. Makes a good cut flower. The colorful blooms age well, fading to a soft orange at the back end of their bloom period. Attractive to pollinators.
