Basics: zones 3-7, 1-2' x 1', full to part sun to very light shade, blue-y purple unusual blooms from late summer into autumn, likes a rich, moist, acidic soil with lots of rotted leaves, is clay tolerant.

Origin/Distribution: Found from Maine west to New York, south to New Jersey, and down the Appalachian Mountains into North Carolina. Native to Maine.
