Sizes available: 1 quart
Basics: zones 5-9, 8-10" x 12", part to full shade, charming white flowers in late spring, drought tolerant once established
Common names: Young's Barrenwort, Bishop's Hat
Family: Berberidaceae
Origin/Distribution: This is a hybrid between E. grandiflorum (China) and E. diphyllum (Japan).
Habitat: woodland in dappled shade
More: The leaves emerge with a reddish tinge, turning green as they mature and then red as the season cools. This cultivar is excellent in the shady rock garden, as a small-scale ground cover or at the border edge. The numerous white flowers really brighten up the shade. 'Niveum' blooms later in the spring than most other epimediums and is deer and rabbit resistant.
