Basics: zones 3-10, 18-30" x 12-18", full sun to light shade, pale purple and very reflexed petals bloom (think fairy petticoat or badminton shuttlecock) in mid-late summer, doesn't mind lean soil and is drought tolerant once established.

Habitat: dry, open woods on rocky soils, savanna, prairie
More: E. pallida has a long taproot, therefore, once established it can hold its own with strong-growing associates. It makes a good cut flower and is deer resistant. Looks beautiful popping up amongst grasses. The root has been used medicinally.
