Sizes available: #1 (Trade gallon)
Basics: zones 4-9, 18-24" x 12-18", sun to part sun (this is not a woodland foxglove), rosy-pink, nodding bells bloom along narrow spires in early summer, likes fertile, acidic soil with good drainage, somewhat drought tolerant once established.
Common names: Mullein Foxglove cultivar
Family: Plantaginaceae
Origin/Distribution: The species is found on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain, Portugal). 'Spanish Peaks' is a seed strain popularized by the Denver Botanic Garden.
Habitat: Native to rocky mountainsides and plains in full sun.
More: Bumblebees will visit the flowers and like all Foxgloves it is toxic and deer resistant. This cultivar will not likely come true from seed. It may hybridize with Digitalis purpurea, which could lead to interesting variants. To maintain the clarity of 'Spanish Peaks' you will need to divide your plants. Nice addition to the vase. Good addition to the sunny rock garden.
