Origin/Distribution: The species is native to eastern Asia

Habitat: likes fertile, moist, but well-drained habitats 

More: a selection from Marry Ann and Fred McGourty of Hillside Gardens in Norfolk, VA, divide every three years, can cut back by a third at the beginning of July to create a bushier, more compact plant that will still have time to form flower buds, deer and rabbit tolerant
