Sizes available: TBD
Basics: zones 5-8, 2-4" x 10-18", full sun to light shade, the flowers are tiny and red-purple, and bloom on cream-colored "stalks" over feathery foliage in mid-late summer. Wants well-drained soil and no winter wet.
Common names: Clubbed Sheep's Burr, Cadillo, Bidi-bidi
Family: Rosaceae
Origin/Distribution: Occurs in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
Habitat: Found in open and sunny grassland habitats.
More: I like ground covers and am developing a sunny, lean garden where I think this will be an excellent addition to the edges. Grown for its fern-like mat of foliage, the flower stalks are intriguing and remain interesting as the seeds ripen. Definitely wants good drainage, especially in the winter. Pretty for a low, open bowl planter with other diminutive textures. I think it also has rock garden potential.
