Basics: zones 4-8, 12-18" x 24", full shade to part shade (I am testing it's tolerance of morning sun), light pink bloom in early summer, wants well-drained woodland soils.

Habitat: dry, shaded hillsides
More: The leaves emerge white and wooly and unfurl as they rise up, finishing as a heavily dissected "umbrella" on a stalk. Excellent for shade gardens and rock gardens as long as they are well-drained. Will slowly form a group by rhizome. I wonder if this foliage will do well in flower arrangements. Stay tuned.
