More: Lion's Foot is a great choice for your native shady garden. It is a biennial or short-lived perennial that attracts bees, beetles, and moths. Both the Gray-banded Leaf Roller Moth, Argyrotaenia Mariana, and the Chain-dotted Geometer, Cingilia catenaria, are native to Maine and will feed on Prenanthes species. However, these are generalist feeders and utilize numerous plant species that are native to Maine. This plant has been used medicinally as a topical antidote to snake bite and as a tonic for dysentary.
