Basics: Zones 3-9, up to 2' x 1', part sun to part shade, can take quite a bit of shade, white blooms in the spring, likes a medium wet to medium dry situation, prefers moisture but is adaptable, not picky about soil and tolerates seasonal inundation.

Origin/Distribution: Occurs from Nova Scotia west to South Dakota, south to eastern Texas and Georgia and north up the Atlantic seaboard to New England. Native to Maine
Habitat: open woodland and edge, thicket
