More: C. tripteris is a host plant for several moth species including the Common Tan Wave Moth (Pleuroprucha insulsaria) which is native to Maine. Pollinators enjoy the flowers. This plant is a beautiful but strong grower with re-seeding tendencies (so deadhead spent blooms if necessary). Good companions are Andropogon gerardii, Sorghastrum nutans, Monarda fistulosa, Eutrochium maculatum, and Sorghastrum nutans. See a theme here? Grow strong growers with other strong growers in a meadow situation.
